HURRAH!! Congratulations to Canadian kayaker, Adam Van Koeverden who paddled to the silver medal today at the Beijing Olympics.Adam was the favourite to win the 1,000 m event yesterday but the unthinkable happened when he missed the medals and came in near the back of the pack. Not one to let a disappointment get the best of him, Adam came back and just missed the gold in the K-1 500 m today and won the silver. Interviewed on CBC, Adam dismissed the idea of a flag-bearer curse and was gracious and happy to be the silver medalist. We grow 'em good here in Canada! Congrats, Adam!! (photo: Macleans.ca)
