Reports of its demise are premature, and its survival will be discussed in upcoming meetings regarding the NBC fall schedule. The program did have ratings growth with its move to Friday nights and has a vocal fan base who have been petitioning for the show to stay put.
Personally, I hope 'Lipstick' remains. It's one of the few shows featuring likable adult female characters -- juggling career and personal lives just like the rest of us. Okay, they're wearing fabulous clothes, don't know the meaning of glass ceiling and can afford to live in Manhattan -- so *not* like the rest of us, but that's also part of its charm! Reality with a heavy dose of escapism. Some people have taken swipes at Brooke Shields' acting or a few minor story details, but the program is far more entertaining that 'Grey's Anatomy' or 'Desperate Housewives.' Jump the shark, anyone?
